Daniel Chandler is an economist and philosopher based at the London School of Economics, and the author of Free and Equal: What Would a Fair Society Look Like? (April 2023, Allen Lane). He sits on the editorial board of the Fairness Foundation.
He has degrees in economics, philosophy and history from Cambridge and LSE, and was awarded a Henry Fellowship at Harvard where he studied under Amartya Sen. Previously, Daniel worked in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, and as a researcher at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Resolution Foundation think tanks.
