Michael Livingston

Dr Michael Livingston, FRHistS, is an award-winning historian, a novelist, and a TV presenter. Two of his books — The Battle of Crécy: A Casebook and Medieval Warfare: A Reader — have won the Distinguished Book Prize from the international Society for Military History (2017, 2020).

Michael’s popular history books include Never Greater Slaughter, Crécy: Battle of Five Kings, and the recent Agincourt: Battle of the Scarred King. His novels include the Shards of Heaven trilogy of historical fantasies and the Seaborn Cycle of traditional fantasies. He has appeared on programmes for Discovery, History, and Smithsonian Channels, as well as History Hit.

The Citadel Distinguished Professor at at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Michael presently serves as the Secretary-General of the United States Commission for Military History.
