Katie Engelhart Shortlisted for the NYPL Helen Bernstein Award for Excellence in Journalism
We are very pleased to announce that THE INEVITABLE: Dispatches on the Right to Die by Katie Engelhart has been shortlisted for the New York Public Library's annual Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism 2022.
The award recognizes works written by working journalists that raise awareness about current events or issues of global or national significance.
Now that the five nominees have been chosen - including Jessica Nordell, Andrea Elliott, Amelia Pang, and Jocelyn C. Zuckerman - a six-person committee of journalists will determine the winner who will receive a $15,000 cash prize. Previous winners of the award include Masha Gessen, Anand Giridharadas, George Packer, and Nina Bernstein.
The winner will be announced in the coming weeks.
