Honor Cargill-Martin's Messalina shortlisted for the Slightly Foxed Best First Biography Prize 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Honor Cargill-Martin's Messalina: The Life and Times of Rome’s Most Scandalous Empress has been shortlisted for the Slightly Foxed Best First Biography Prize 2023!

The Prize awards £2,500 to the judges’ choice of the best first biography published each year. This year's judges are Philip Eade, Sue Gaisford and Clare Mulley.

The shortlist was announced on 5th January and the winner will be announced at a prize-giving celebration on Tuesday 19th March 2024 at Maggs Bros Ltd in London.
