Sony Pictures Television signs an exclusive deal with British historian and author Dan Jones to develop TV drama adaptations of his books

Dan Jones, author of bestselling titles including, THE PLANTAGENETS, THE TEMPLARS, and THE HOLLOW CROWN, will develop adaptations of his works through Sony Pictures Televisions’ (SPT) stable of scripted production companies, including Left Bank Pictures and Eleven. He will likewise be actively offering his insight and expertise on other productions across the group.

Dan is an international bestselling author and historian, a TV presenter and award-winning journalist. He has written and presented more than 60 hours of TV documentaries, including the popular Netflix and Channel 5 series SECRETS OF GREAT BRITISH CASTLES. His latest history book, CRUSADERS, was published by Head of Zeus in the UK in 2019. Most recently, he co-wrote THE WORLD AFLAME: THE LONG WAR 1914-1945, which was published in May 2020, with Marina Amaral. They previously co-authored the Sunday Times bestseller THE COLOUR OF TIME.
