Katie Engelhart
Katie Engelhart is a reporter and documentary film producer, based in New York City. She is also a National Fellow at New America. Previously, she has worked as a foreign correspondent at VICE News and a New York-based correspondent for NBC News. Her writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including The New York Times, The Guardian, The Atlantic and California Sunday. Katie’s work brings together narrative, immersive reporting and big philosophical thinking.
Katie is the recipient of numerous journalism awards, including Canada’s National Magazine Award, which she won for her coverage of Ukraine’s Euromaidan revolution. In a former life, she was a graduate student in Modern History at Oxford University, St. Antony’s College, At Oxford, Katie worked as a researcher for the historian Timothy Garton Ash and was a scholar at the Ralf Dahrendorf Programme for the Study of Freedom. She graduated from Cornell University, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
